Fanshawe College is located in London, Ontario, Canada, only two hours from Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Detroit in the United States. London is known as the ‘Forest City’ and is surrounded by beautiful parks and lakes, as well as being a vibrant business and cultural hub. There are currently 21,000 full-time students at Fanshawe College, including 6,500 international students from 100 different countries.

As one of Ontario’s largest colleges, with additional campuses in Simcoe, St. Thomas and Woodstock, as well as campuses in downtown London and London South, Fanshawe offers more than 200 programs at degree, diploma and certificate level.

Eligibility

Entry requirements

For international applicants applying through the Study Direct Stream (SDS Program) from India, Pakistan, Morocco, Senegal, China, Vietnam or Philippines, the SDS IELTS requirements are 6.0, with no score less than 6.0 in any of the four bands. For programs listing a higher IELTS requirement, the higher score will be required.

English Requirements for Certificate and Diploma Programs:

  • TOEFL: 550 – PBT, 79 – iBT
  • IELTS: 6.0 with no band lower than 5.5
  • Cambridge: 169 with no skill less than 162

English Requirements for Degree Programs:

  • TOEFL: 560 – PBT, 84 – iBT
  • IELTS: 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0
  • Cambridge: 176 with no skill less than 169

English Requirements for Postgraduate Certificate Programs:

  • TOEFL: 570 – PBT, 88 – iBT
  • IELTS: 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0
  • Cambridge: 176 with no skill less than 169

Tuition Fees and Living Expenses

Tuition fees and living expenses will vary depending on a student’s chosen program of study and accommodation:

  • Post-Secondary program tuition and fees: *CAD 16,000 to CAD 18,000 (fees vary depending on program).
  • Living expenses: *CAD 10,000 – CAD 12,000
  • Books and other expenses: *CAD 500 – CAD 2,000

*All fees are in Canadian dollars and approximate depending on the program of study. The LTC bus pass is included for full-time London campus students. Housing costs are dependent on living situation (type of accommodation), with on-site residence students having a mandatory meal plan included in fees.

Campus and Facilities

Facilities

Finding accommodation can often be a daunting task in a new city. Fanshawe College offers students a number of accommodation options through the International Office, with the assistance of the Accommodation Coordinator. Accommodation options include:

Homestay

  • Includes private bedroom, access to a bathroom, laundry facilities and internet access
  • Meals as requested on a chosen meal plan for half board or full board
  • CAD 900 per month for full board, plus a one-time fee of CAD 200 and an administration fee of CAD 75 per payment.

Residence – Falcon House, Peregrine House, Merlin House (apartment-style, on campus)

  • Cost of this accommodation for eight months is CAD 8,825 including a CAD 250 security deposit and CAD 1,200 mandatory meal plan.
  • Each bedroom includes a desk and chair, drawers and closet space
  • Students share a kitchen and living areas, as well as study spaces, movie lounges and laundry services in the accommodation blocks.
  • There is a non-refundable application fee of CAD 525

Residence – Kestrel Court (townhouse, beside the campus)

  • A standard bedroom with a double bed is CAD 7,240 or there is a small bedroom with a single bed costing CAD 6,925 (this includes a security deposit of CAD 250).
  • Each bedroom includes a desk and chair, drawers and closet space
  • Residents share a home with five other students, with a living room, bathrooms and a kitchen (no meals provided).
  • There is a non-refundable application fee of CAD 525.
